1) Sample collection

A riverside, a seaside, a road cut and a quarry are good sampling locations.
Before the visit to the out crop, we need to study the back ground about the visiting spot with reference books or geological maps.

There are a lot of rocks, including igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks, because this river flows through geologically diverse regions.
