there are still relatively few.

Why is it?

Analog experiments, which were once replaced away by  
computer simulations and regarded as old-fashioned, 
are now reviving with a trend of "Complexity Science" 

So, we introduce a fascinating analog fault model 
in geoscience class room with a slight modification of
 famous sand-box experiments (eg. Hubbert,1951).
